The GP2X is a handheld linux based game system. In 2007 I started writing applications to use the GP2X as a visual tool. SDL libraries were used to access user input (joystick, buttons, etc) allowing the user to “play” the visuals.
Below are some screen shots of apps running on the GP2X. One of the apps creates patterns by combining various waveforms (defined in look up tables) via various equations - generally about 100. User input is mapped to frequency, amplitude and color cycling of the patterns.
