Limited Edition Blip Festival 2009 T Shirt by outpt+paris

Oh … yeah this news is actually about a month old, but we’ve been so busy I forgot to share it!

Just a few weeks ago Blip Festival 2009 took place in NYC. Blip Festival Kickstarter donors received some cool “thank you” items - one of which was a limited edition T Shirt by one (or a team) of the Blip VJs. Some people recieved a random shirt while uber donors received… all of them!

Since there weren’t many made, I thought I’d share an image (above). What is it? Well.. outpt and I decided to take awesomely designed Blip “b” (via Trash80) and kind of give it a remix - by filling with patterns, glitches, etc. created by our own vj apps.

So… next time you see cool people like recording artist Da Pantz or chip personality Ethan sporting one of these, you’ll know the story behind it!

We don’t have any of these for sale but we will have other outpt+paris designs out there soon!

gp2x pattern maker demo @ JANM, LA. Nov 7, 2009

As part of the first stop on the Data Beez West Coast Tour, I gave a short demo of an application that I wrote for the gp2x and one for the gameboy advance.

The gp2x application creates patterns based on various mathematical combinations of user defined waveforms. The gameboy advance application works with sprites to create patterns that can be scrolled, glitched, and roto-zoomed.

The presentation was given on Nov 7th, 2009 at the Japanese American National Museum in Los Angeles as part of the Giant Robot Biennale Exhibit.
